A loan of $2,725 helped a member to purchase furniture.

Bolsa Negra Group's story

The communal bank "Bolsa Negra" will begin its first loan cycle at Pro Mujer, as part of the Cascada Regional Office. It is made up of eight members with a board of directors headed by Sabina. The members of the communal bank are involved in a variety of businesses, including: food sales, macrame, the sale of paintings, sale of rice, sale of meat pies and sales of provisions on credit.

Sabina indicates that she has been part of a communal bank for five years and is currently involved in the business of food sales that has been ongoing for years. The loan from this cycle is to enlarge her business (the purchase of furniture that will be installed in the sales space). The furniture will be acquired from markets in La Paz. This form of work allows her to support her family as she is married and has six children.

When asked what she likes about Pro Mujer, she responds that she likes the training and to learn.
