A loan of $400 helped to buy cooking oil, sugar, rice, beans, meat, chicken and condiments.

Maria Estela's story

María runs an eatery. She is a widow, and lives with her 14-year-old daughter. She has her business in her home, and her hours are 7:00am to 9:00pm. She works with three employees who help serve customers and prepare the food.

This business came about, because with her husband's death, she needed income. She had to fend for herself.

Now she is applying for a loan to buy supplies such as cooking oil, sugar, rice, beans, meats, chicken and condiments. This purchase will help her improve the availability of ingredients, so that she can work making the daily meals. María's ambition is to see her business grow by increasing the availability of food in order to supply customer demand. Her goal is to improve her financial situation.
