A loan of $750 helped to purchase more food items like tomatoes, Irish potatoes, black pepper and onions.

Mary's story

Mary is a thirty-year-old business woman, who lives in Juba. She is married and has five children between the ages of eleven and two. Four of them go to school.

Mary runs a food store business, and she has been in the business for eight years. She has no employees. Mary heard about Finance Sudan through fellow clients and outreach and promotion done by the loan officers. She is taking a loan of SDG 2,000 to purchase more food items like tomatoes, Irish potatoes, black pepper, onions, and many others. Mary has no other source of income aside from this business.

In five years time, Mary would like to hope that her business grows, and that she can build a house. Her major challenges include her low income and the fact that it is expensive to rent a house in Juba.

Mary says that she is happy for the support of Finance Sudan, and that it is received with many thanks.
