A loan of $1,050 helped to purchase flour, salt, lard, and other items.

Rosaura's story

Doña Rosaura is a single mother. She is 39 years old and has three daughters who are students and still depend on their mother. Doña Rosaura has worked selling flour tortillas for six years. She learned the business when she worked in a tortilla factory. She works together with her three daughters. They make the tortillas and later go out to sell them, beginning at 5:00 a.m. and going to 5:00 p.m. One of her advantages is that she has many clients, but it is difficult for her to get around walking without a mode of transport, since she has to struggle with changes in the weather. The loan that Doña Rosaura is asking for is to supply her business with the purchase of products such as flour, eggs, salt, lard, firewood, and others and improve the condition of her workplace. Doña Rosaura's greatest desire is to finish building her house so that she doesn't have to continue renting, and one of her goals is to be able to have a well established factory for flour tortillas in order to increase her earnings and in this way improve the finances of her home.
