Virgen Asunta Group's story

These members belong to the 'Virgen Asunta' community bank which is located in Urubamba district, in Urubamba province, in Cusco department.

Ana is a member of this group. She is 38 years old, single, and has four children. She has a fruit and veg. business and works independently. She takes her products to places such as Puerto Maldonado to sell. She works from 8.00am to 6.00pm and, through this business, she provides for her children. Her dream is to have premises where she can sell her fruit and veg. She is requesting this loan to buy apples, oranges, grapes, bananas, potatoes, carrots, lettuces and tomatoes wholesale.

The other members of this group run an auto repair shop, a grocery store, a taxi business and a business selling candies. The member in the picture which is attached to the main photo arrived to the meeting a little late for work reasons.

Ana is grateful to the people who will take part in her dream in this way and pledges to make her loan repayments on time.
