A loan of $1,175 helped to buy novelty items, beauty products and electronic loads for cell phones.

Rosa Guadalupe's story

Rosa Guadalupe, age 67, is married and has three children, ages 19, 17, and 15. The children go to school. She lives with her family in the Evita San Francisco neighborhood in Yojoa, Peña Blanca.

Guadalupe is a retired teacher. Four years ago she undertook a business of selling novelty items and electronic loads for cell phones. She established this business in her house, and she states that it is going very well for her.

She sells beauty products, clothes, perfumes, and school supplies. Guadalupe is a very hard-working woman. She has been very motivated ever since she started her own business. She generates her own income with her business, and she uses the income to help with the daily household expenses. In addition to this business activity of selling these products, she also does sewing jobs. She devotes all day to her business.

She is currently requesting her second loan for 22,000 lempiras to buy novelty items and beauty products. She will do this to stock her business more, to increase her inventory, and to be able to offer a variety of products to her customers. Her goal is to expand her business, to keep it stocked always, and to get improved income.
