Agbessi's story

Agbessi is a 50-year old woman, who is married to an engine driver. She has two children, one of whom goes to school. The eldest is 26 years old and the youngest 18. Agbessi has worked as a market gardener since 1987. She produces and sells market gardening products to all types of customer at Lomé's Grand Market. She buys her products in Lomé. She works alone and at the moment her main problem is a rupture of stock. Agbessi has requested her fourth loan from WAGES so that she can buy agricultural inputs for the production of her market gardening products. She wants to reinvest in her business. In the coming years, Agbessi would like to buy a land to cultivate. She says that she is planning to include her family in the production with the profits she makes.
