Javier Alberto's story

Javier is a 49 year old men that cuts and carves wood, this activity allows him to generate the necessary income for his family, he is also a casual worker to generate extra income, his wife also helps with the house expenses, she currently sells salchipapas (french fries with wieners) and has a good number of clients because this is a popular food item amongst Peruvians.

Javier works approximately 8 hours a day, where he looks after 5 clients per week, he is getting word of mouth from his client's recommendations, because he does a good job, unfortunately he now has problems with the chain saw and hopes that Kiva borrowers can help him so he can give it maintenance and also to buy tables and chairs for the salchipapas business his wife has. He is very happy for the help provided and the trust they've given him.

Javier and his wife are willing to do lots for their little one to become a professional and to get ahead as a family.
