A loan of $950 helped to purchase more shoes to stock her business.

Meyga's story

Meyga, 30, is a good, friendly and hardworking woman. She lives with her partner, also 30, with whom she has two children, Joao, 10, and Luana, 2. She lives in her partner’s parent’s home, however she keeps household expenses separate, since they form two different family units.

Several times a month, Meyga goes to the cities of Lima or Trujillo where she finds the most comfortable footwear to sell later. In addition, she also sells the most exclusive, high quality shoes by catalog. During her spare time she leaves home to sell to her friends, neighbors, relatives and the other customers she has attracted over the two years she has been engaged in the shoe business.

During her working hours many things happen and she learns from each experience, since she is a woman who continues to learn every day and then applies what she learns to improving her character and her service to her customers. She greatly enjoys her work since it enables her plenty of free time to spend with her children and husband.

In recent months her sales have greatly improved. Consequently she would like to increase her capital to cover all of her customer’s sales orders. This will be her third loan with MFP. She is very happy to know she will have financial help so that she can continue increasing her working capital. As well, she is sure that she will continue being as good and responsible a member as she was with loans she obtained previously.

Meyga enjoys belonging to the communal bank, which works because all the women are responsible and supportive of one another. She will use the S/. 2,500 requested to purchase more shoes to have in stock so she can meet increasing customer demand.
