A loan of $2,500 helped to pay the rent on her market stall and also to stock up on belts, handbags and men’s blazers.

Svetlana's story

Svetlana lives with her husband and two sons—nine and four years of age—in Ivano-Frankivsk, Western Ukraine. She is an entrepreneur selling accessories at the market: belts, handbags, caps, blazers and slippers. Sveltana always keeps her prices affordable which gives her an advantage over other market vendors offering similar wares. Svetlana has been in business for almost eight years. Her monthly income is about 6,000 UAH.

Svetlana needs a loan of 20,000 UAH in order to pay the rent on her market stall and also to stock up on belts, handbags and men’s blazers. Svetlana is a pragmatic vendor: she starts planning for the spring and warmer weather in advance and would like to renew her assortment of wares for young people. Svetlana hopes to use her revenues in order to finish repairs in the apartment where she lives with her family.
