Veronika Katherine

Peru
Pisco, Peru / Fish Selling

A loan of $1,125 helped to buy fishing equipment that she will rent and merchandise that she will resell.

Veronika Katherine's story

Veronika, 34, operates a business buying and selling fish. She operates the business at the fish market in Pisco. She wants to generate an income so that she can support her her 4-year old son. Veronika loves her little boy very much and it's for him that she works.

Veronika learned how to buy and sell fish from her mother who operated a similar business. She learned how to clean fish, what price to charge and everything else. She started the business with her own savings and with help from her family. She is very happy with the business.

Veronika has operated the business for 9 years. It's located in a good spot, inside the fish market, something that helps her sales. She noticed that many fishermen rent nets so she's applying for a loan to buy nets and other equipment that she will, in turn, rent to generate an extra income. She also wants to buy other kinds of fish (jurel, bonito, lenguardo, pintadilla, etc.) so that she can draw in more customers.

Veronika says that she is grateful for your help. She is sure that the investment will generate the income she needs to meet her goal of building a sturdier, safer house.
