La Paz, Bolivia / Food Stall

A loan of $825 helped to purchase a stove and repair her sales stall.

Virginia's story

Virginia is a 58 years old widow. She has four adult children who are already living independently. She sells food at a crowded market in La Paz that is very busy during lunch hour. This is her first loan with the institution and she will use the loan to buy a stove for her business and to repair her sales stall. The challenges that Virginia faces in her business are increasing food sales, gaining more customers, and being better than the competition so that she can generate more income. She feels very happy and grateful for the opportunity provided through the granting of the loan.
