Sope Serign Mbacké Sokhna Lo Group's story

The solidarity group Sope Serigan Mbacké Sokhna Lo has been in existence since the first cycle of the banc villageois. It is currently comprised of seven members who live in the same village and who engage in small trade as their primary activity.

Madame Astou (standing at the left in the photo) is responsible for the solidarity group. She is 63 years old, married, and the mother of 9 children. For several years she has been developing a small business trading grains. With her new loan, she will procure merchandise (peanuts and millet) which she will resell at the small market in her village.

With these profits she will be able to pay for her children's school supplies as well as for clothing for religious festivals.

In this group: Maty, Nékhou, Fatou, Astou, Amy, Seynabou, Khady
