San Valentin 2 Group's story

This group is called “San Valentín 2” and the members chose this name because they consider themselves to be very romantic. This story is about Antonieta who is one of the group members. She’s 52 years old and a single mother of two children, Leonardo and Ángel, who attend first and second year of high school. She has sold perfumes and bedspreads via catalogue for over three years. She says that she decided on this activity because she wanted to find a way of moving her children ahead and offer them a better education and quality of life, also to enjoy good economic solvency. The loan she was granted will be used to buy more perfume, creams, deodorants, sheets, comforters, bedspreads and curtains to have a wider selection of stock. The goal Antonieta has set for herself is to give her children a very good education so that they will be able to study a very good career and attain excellent professions in order to have a better future. She also wants to make her business grow much more because she’s thinking about building a locale to install her perfume shop so that she can have more assorted merchandise and products that will help her improve and increase her income. She says that all her fellow group members are very trustworthy, responsible and, above all, very hardworking people. Toña (as her fellow group members call her) thanks FRAC and Kiva because thanks to them she’s been able to expand her business and thus change her and her family’s life. Antonieta’s other group members are: Flor, Petra Tania, Filemón and Joel who carry out a variety of activities like building materials, perfume shop, shoe shop, groceries and fruit shop.
