A loan of $1,325 helped a member to buy spare parts (tires, spark plugs, oil, lubricant, etc.) and have his taxi serviced.

La Esperanza De San Luis Group's story

This group is called "La Esperanza de San Luis" (The Hope of San Luis), because its members decided to call it after their community, since they all live there.

The following description is about Señor Antonio. He is 33 years old and married to Señora Teodomira, with whom he has two children who attend the first and second year of kindergarten. Antonio has been a taxi driver for more than four years. He says that he decided to start this business, because he wanted to find a way to raise his children and support his wife with household expenses, while improving the quality of life of his family. He will invest his loan in the purchase of spare parts (tires, spark plugs, oil, lubricant, etc.) and the maintenance of his taxi.

The goal of Don Toño (as he is best known in his neighborhood) is to continue supporting his children in their studies, so that they get a good professional career and a better future. He also wants to expand his small business and will save some money to buy another car and thus increase his income. Antonio is very grateful to the microfinance institution Fundación Realidad and the Kiva lenders for their unconditional support, because it has helped him to improve his own quality of life and that of his family.

These are the names and activities of the members of the group: Yaneth, Antonio, Cristina and Francisca; they drive a taxi, sell poultry, sell fruits and vegetables, and sell clothes.

In this group: Yanet, Antonio, Cristina, Francisca
