Khalifa has been a shopkeeper for 7 years. In addition, he also raises livestock. This is his first experience taking out a loan. Khalifa is 32 years old and married. He started working as a vendor early on: he used to work as an itinerant vendor and eventually opened a shop.
He is going to use his loan to buy sugar, tamarind, beans, cereals, salt etc. He carries these items in his shop but he also visits other sellers to offer his wares and take their orders. As to expenses, he pays rent on his shop. Like every good vendor, Khalifa would like to diversify his merchandise and services so as to improve the living condition of his family.
