Momela Group's story

Rebecca, who is in her early 50's, is married and has five children. One of them is still at school and the rest are independent. Rebecca has been a food vendor for 10 years now. She works from 6.00 am to 6.00 pm daily and is able to make a small monthly profit. This will be her 2nd loan from Tujijenge Tanzania. She used the previous loan to restock the missing items in the food store and for household expenses and has paid back her loan successfully. She wants a loan to buy more stocks of food so that she will be able to sell more food to more people. Her dream is to one day be able to own a hotel. She will share this loan with her loan group, "Momela," which has a total of 15 members. They will hold each other accountable for paying back their loans.
