A loan helped a member to buy ground corn and sorghum with which to feed her livestock.

Huitzililla Group's story

Cruz will use her loan to buy perfumes and cosmetics. Eleuteria will buy sorghum and ground corn. Tomasa will buy bread, mayonnaise, ham and vegetables for making pies. The rest of the group's members continue working in the same businesses.

Eleuteria is 51 years old, married, and has a 19-year-old daughter who is studying for a degree. Eleuteria raises and sells calves and cows. She requested this loan to buy feed for her animals. She will buy ground corn and sorghum. She started her business two years ago with a cow that she was given. Her business grew and she later bought some calves. These had babies and her business is growing with them.

Eleuteria is happy to have calves and cows because it means she has something in case of emergency. She uses the profits from her business to pay for her daughter's schooling and to cover her household expenses. Her hopes and dreams are to enjoy good health so that she can continue working, and the best for her daughter. She would like to say to Kiva and Fundación Realidad “Thank you for the loans that give us strength by boosting the growth of our businesses. This allows us to live better with our families".
