A loan of $575 helped to buy cattle.

Maria Balvina's story

Maria, 58, is married and lives with her husband and two adult children who are economically independent. She has her own house in the district of Mochumi which is over an hour from the province of Lambayeque. The rural community she lives in is called "Muy Finca Los Pinos" where she is well known and has a good reputation for being kind and hard-working.

For approximately 12 years she has been selling livestock such as goats, sheep and chickens. Since she has been in the trade for such a long time she has many customers from traveling so often to other rural communities, buying and selling. Now she sells directly to market merchants in the district of Mochumi. Her business has allowed her to support the family and, with the help of her children, trade has increased greatly. The loan she is requesting through Edpyme Alternative in the amount of 1,500 PEN will be ued to buy more livestock (cattle) to increase her working capital and continue attending to her customers.
