A loan of $1,200 helped to do the finishing touches on his home.

Jose Luis's story

José Luis is 26 years old and lives with his wife, Delicia Campero, and their two young children in a small room in his in-laws' home that is very uncomfortable. José Luis' mother left him a plot of land where they have already started construction that Kiva partner Cidre financed, but the amount wasn't enough to complete all of the construction. José Luis plans to use this loan for the finishing touches. He and Delicia want to have at least three rooms completed, since the rest of the work isn't as far along. José Luis makes a living selling concrete aggregates like sand, stones, gravel, etc., and he also sells bricks. His wife makes a living raising and selling pigs. They are both very responsible and hard working. Among their dreams and goals is to finish construction of their home and start a business out of it, like selling tires and motor oil, since the home is located in a very commercial area. In this way Delicia will be able to tend to the business and also be with her children.
