WANGNIGNIGBE is a group of three people whose members live in the same neighbourhood. The representant of the group, Mireille (whose hand is raised in the photo), is 34 years old.Mireille is married to a cook by the name of Celestin. The couple have two children, they pay school fees for both of them. To cover their needs, for nearly seven years Mireille has been selling second hand clothes, underwear and jewellery in her neighbourhood in Benin.Mireille buys her stock in a market in Benin. In order to enlarge her business and to be more competitive, Mireille would like to increase her stock; which will enable her to increase her turnover and her income. For this reason, Mireille requests a loan from ALIDé together with the other members of the WANGNIGNIGBE group.
WANGNIGNIGBE est un groupe de trois personnes, dont les membres résident dans le même quartier. La représentante du groupe, Mireille (dont la main est levée sur la photo), est âgée de 34 ans. Mireille est mariée à un cuisinier du nom de Célestin. Le couple a deux enfants, tous scolarisés et à leur charge. Mireille, Pour subvenir à ses besoins, vend depuis près de sept ans des friperies, des sous vêtements et des bijoux de façon secondaire dans son quartier au Benin. Mireille s’approvisionne dans un marché du Bénin. Dans le but d’agrandir son activité et pour être plus compétitive sur le marché, Mireille désire augmenter le stock de ses produits ; ce qui lui permettra d’accroitre son chiffre d’affaire et son revenu. Pour cette raison, Mireille sollicite un crédit auprès de ALIDé, ensemble avec les autres membres du groupe WANGNIGNIGBE.

Alidé is a Beninese NGO that works to reduce poverty by offering sustainable access to productive loans like this one in addition to savings, training sessions, and social work to low-income families.

Supporters of this loan should be aware that there is some risk of being repaid late. Because the Beninois Ministry of Finance has imposed restrictions on the amount of money Alidé can send to Kiva, the organization can only send monthly repayments in installments smaller than $13,000. This means that some Kiva lenders may receive their repayments late. However, Alidé remains a healthy institution in good standing with its creditors, and Kiva would like to continue working to support its clients.
