Ivan's story

Iván, 34, lives with Olinda with whom he has two children who are 13 and 11 years old. They all live together in their own house locate din Sanchirio Palomar, San Luis de Shuaro-Chanchamayo District. Iván is a farmer. He learned to do the hard field work when he was a boy. He grows coffee and bananas on his own land. With these two products he’s able to give his family the necessary sustenance to meet their basic needs. Thanks to his savings he was able to open a grocery store at home.

Iván is a hardworking man. When he finishes his work in the fields he works as a bricklayer. And as if this weren’t enough, he also sells fuel. He buys various gallons of petroleum and gasoline and sells them to residents in his zone. This way he’s sure his family’s economy is insured. One of his goals is to acquire more farmland because coffee growing brings good results.

This would be loan #5 Iván would get from MFP so he commits to be punctual with his monthly installment payments. He belongs to the “El Palomar al Éxito” (El Palomar to Success) communal bank and he feels happy to do so because he has responsible fellow members. He will invest the money from his loan purchasing gallons of fuel for his business and he will also buy sacks of organic manure for his coffee plants.
