A loan of $500 helped to buy cattle feed.

Eusebia's story

Eusebia, or Doña Cheva, like she’s known in her small community of El Cacao located in the outskirts of Boaco Department, is 70 years old. She tells us that she had 10 children who are already married and live in the capital. She says that her farming activities started when she was 19 years old when she got married and when her husband passed away she took over taking care of the farm and raising her children.

The grains she grows she sells in her own community and she also sells cheese that she, herself, makes with milk from her cows. Even though she gets help from her children for farm maintenance she still needs a bit more investment to keep the farm in optimal conditions. Today, she needs the loan to buy feed for the cattle she has and to plant corn and beans. Her goal is to buy two more cows to improve milk production and to expand the area she has planted with basic grains which are of great need in her community.
