Yakaar Group's story

This solidarity group was created on March 23, 2001. It is made up of 11 women who live in the same neighborhood. They are mainly involved in small businesses.
Mrs. Satou, to the left of the photo with her hand raised, is the leader of the group. She is 42 years old. She is married and the mother of seven children. She also has two other children whose parents left them in her care.
She sells vegetables and peanut butter. She has a lot of experience with this type of business because she has been at it for several years.
This loan will allow her to build up her working capital and to develop her business.
Her profits will allow her to improve living conditions for her family (healthcare, food, clothing, etc.) and to add to her savings.
