Jacinto Estuardo's story

Jacinto Estuardo is 50 years old. He lives with his wife and with their 3 children. He lives in Montalvo, in the province of Los Rios.

The communal bank is called PITA. It is located in Recinto San Pablo de Pita, which belongs to Caluma cantón, 45 minutes from Montalva. This communal bank is dedicated to agricultural work in orange, banana, orito [tiny bananas], cacao, and coffee crops.

Jacinto cultivates farms of cacao, bananas, and coffee because these are long-term crops. He makes his purchases at Comercial San Rafael in Caluma and sells in Montalvo.

He is requesting a loan to buy inputs such as: fertilizers, urea, and fungicides for plant diseases and weeds, and Ranger [a pesticide] for plant diseases. The loan has helped him improve the quality of his products and avoid crop losses. Jacinto’s dream is to buy land to improve his family’s income.

He likes the fact that his family is close. He is a good person.
