A loan of $850 helped to buy more clothes for resale.

Martin's story

Martin is 35 years old and lives in the town of Kumi in the Mbale region of Uganda. He is married and has 6 children who are all currently in school. For the past 4 years, Martin has been working hard to manage his small business, which sells clothes.

To help expand his business, Martin has requested a loan of 2,000,000 Ugandan Shillings from BRAC Uganda. The loan will be used to buy more clothes for resale, and will help Martin to generate greater profits and educate his children. Martin hopes that in the future he will be able to expand his business.

Martin is a member of BRAC's Small Enterprise Program (SEP). The program primarily serves small entrepreneurs like Martin who do not have enough collateral for commercial loans, but have businesses that have grown too large for microloans.
