Association Des Relais Et Agents De Santé Communautaires (Arc) Group's story

Group ARC is constituted of two community healthcare agents and three polyvalent mediators. Healthcare agents are volunteers who assist the village head nurse, while mediators are volunteers who contribute to raising the population’s awareness about certain diseases.
They set up paying occupations for themselves, which allows them to support themselves and their respective families. They notably fatten beef and sheep. The group’s leader, wearing white, is a married man. He is a father of five; three of his children attend school. He leads awareness-raising sessions for the local population, in order to defeat malaria and diarrhea, the main diseases afflicting the village.
Today, the group is soliciting a loan for 500,000 FCFA with which they will purchase 20 sheep. The group’s ambition is to always develop their activity.
