Nilda is 55 years old and married. She has five children living with her in Tukuran, Zamboanga Del Sur, Philippines. Nilda is engaged in raising pigs to make a living. She's been four years in this business and every month she earns PHP 10,000 from her business undertakings. In 2011, Nilda joined GDMPC. She has requested 30,000 PHP from the cooperative to purchase livestock feed & other supplies. When all of these animals are grown, Nilda hopes to sell them at a higher price to increase her income.
Gata Daku Multi-Purpose Cooperative (GDMPC) was founded in 1992 by 32 farmer-members to empower people by providing livelihood opportunities and other support services. Today, it has over 15,000 members located in upland, lowland and coastal regions of the Philippines, and offers credit, savings, education, and various social services.
