Giselle Marjorie's story

The Rocafuerte Communal Bank meets every fortnight in the canton of Rocafuerte, a place renowned for the delicious and nationwide famous pastries prepared by the locals.

Here we meet Giselle, 39. She is married and she has three daughters aged 20, 16 and 13. The eldest is a university student, the other two go to high school. Her husband is a driver for an inter-cantonal co-op.

She is a good housewife and she also engages in retail by selling clothes, Romanel jewels and Avon, Yanbal and Lebel products (beauty products, cosmetics, perfumes and accessories for ladies). She works every day and she sells door to door. She also sells in her house, where she has a small bazaar. She buy clothes and Romanel jewels in Chone and Guayaquil, she has been engaging in this activity for more than 8 years and things are going very well.

The loan she is requesting will be used to buy clothes, jewels, perfumes, creams and other products to sell. She has been a member of this Communal Bank for more than 5 years and she likes it because of the help she has received through the loans.

Her dream is to expand and to better supply her bazaar.
