A loan of $525 helped to buy fertilizer and supplies to maintain the crop.

Norman's story

Norman is 34 years old, single, and has two children who are 10 and 4 years old. He lives in the village of San Gerónimo del Níspero in Santa Barbará.

His agricultural business is how he makes his income, specifically cultivating coffee. He learned the business from his father when he was a boy who taught him how work the land. He has one manzana [about 1.72 acres] of coffee that with work, dedication and the necessary maintenance that he gives to his crops, has made his coffee production grow. He says that the price of this product is very profitable on the market. He thinks he will teach his children to make their living in this business as well. Norman works on his crops from very early in the morning, every day of the week.

He is grateful to ODEF for having given him his second loan of 10,000 lempiras to buy fertilizer and supplies to maintain his crop. It has helped him a lot in improving the resources necessary to support his children.

His goal is to be able to cultivate more land so that he can have better coffee production and make a good profit.
