Kifah, 40, is a married Lebanese man living with his wife and school-aged child. He is considered the main income provider in the family and their only support. Kifah started his own business in 1992. He works as a car mechanic and has gained a fair number of customers who request his services. Today, he needs a loan from Kiva partner Ameen s.a.l to buy new mechanical tools for his garage in order to rapidly respond to his clients’ problems. He is sure that acting properly is really essential to build a good career. In the future, he plans to expand his garage and serve more customers.
Due to political and social challenges in Lebanon, personally identifiable attributes entrepreneurs may have been altered to protect their privacy (i.e., blurring portions of the borrower's picture, not indicating a name and location, etc.). Vitas appreciates Kiva lenders' understanding of these challenges and encourages them to continue their support for Lebanon's borrowers.
