Kambeng Group's story

The community group was created on March 23rd 2001. It comprises 13 women who live in the same neighbourhood. Their principal business activity is small retail trading. Dieynaba, who is on the left of the photo with her hand raised, is the group leader. She is 51 years old. She is a widow and has no children of her own. However, she has 2 children in her care, entrusted to her by their parents.
She is a trader of jewelry, shoes and other accessories for women. She has a lot of experience in this business, which she has been doing for several years.
This loan will allow her to increase her stock and to better grow her business. The profits will allow her to improve the family's living conditions (healthcare, food, clothing etc) and to increase her savings.
