Lawahez is a 43-year-old Lebanese married woman living with her husband and five children, who are all studying. She cooperates with her husband, who is the main source of income in the family and has big responsibilities to care for. He has been working in a local company since 1997.
As for her, she has been selling fruits and vegetables all over the villages. Today, she’s requesting to borrow a loan from Kiva partner Ameen s.a.l to open a cafe just next to her vegetable shop. She notes that this will increase her sales by 20 percent. In the future, she plans to enhance her work and increase her earnings.
Due to political and social challenges in Lebanon, personally identifiable attributes entrepreneurs may have been altered to protect their privacy (i.e., blurring portions of the borrower's picture, not indicating a name and location, etc.). Vitas appreciates Kiva lenders' understanding of these challenges and encourages them to continue their support for Lebanon's borrowers.
