A loan of $4,125 helped a member to start selling food door to door.

Mwale Group's story

Asma, who is in her late thirties, is married with two children who are still going to school. She has been selling air time and new clothes door to door since 1990. She works from 10.00 am to 6.00 pm daily and is able to make a good monthly profit.

This will be her ninth loan from Tujijenge Tanzania. She used the previous loans to start selling children and ladies clothes which she sells door to door, to buy more air time, a TV set, TV stand, kitchen cupboard and to pay school fees and has paid back all her loans successfully. Now she would like a loan to start selling food. Her dream is to one day own a hotel.

She will share this loan with her loan group "Mwale" which has a total of sixteen members who will hold each other accountable for paying back their loans.
