Eduardo's story

Eduardo is 27 years old. He lives with Cecilia, who is 22. They have 2 children, Sarai, 5, and Tany, 2. This family is very close and lives in their own home in the community of Santa Clara, district of Huasahuasi. Eduardo is happy to live in Huasahuasi, since its soil is fertile and moist, perfect for growing potatoes, peas, beans and other vegetables. Eduardo is a young farmer and has done this activity for more than 5 years. After every harvest, he sells in the central market of the city of Tarma. In this way he makes considerable earnings to support his family and keep investing in agriculture. One of his biggest goals is to buy land to cultivate and not have to rent from other people. He also has five dairy cows that give him enough milk to make cheeses that he sells at the fairs on Thursdays and Sundays in the city market. He also has 2 oxen that he works with and that he rent to other residents. This is his 12th loan with MFP. He is grateful for belonging to a solid group like “Trabajemos Unidos”, which drives them to get ahead and think of the future. Eduardo will invest the money in buying various bags of natural fertilizer (island guano and manure) to ensure the good production of his "Unica" potatoes and his crop of peas.
