A loan of $1,125 helped to buy cacao plants and hire day workers.

Paulina's story

Paulina is 42 years old and lives in her own home with her husband, Celestino, who is 46 years old, and their 5 loved children, who provide unconditional support. The products that Paulina and her husband have succeeded in planting with much care and dedication, have helped them greatly to get ahead in their lives. Starting very early they begin working in their land, knowing that the care they provide to their cacao plants will determine the quality of the end product. For the past 25 years she has made a living planting cacao. The thing she likes most about her job is taking care of her crops and she feels vary happy when she sees a good harvest of cacao. However, the thing she considers most difficult is transporting the harvest to the warehouses that are located in Palmapampa, which is where she is able to receive the best price for her product. With the loan that she is requesting she will be able to hire day laborers to help provide support in the maintenance of her plants. In the future, she hopes to plant more cacao plants, because she currently has land that is not being cultivated. This will be the 9th loan she has taken out through MFP. She promises to make her payments on time. In her communal bank she is a very supportive member. With the 3,000 Nuevos Soles she will buy cacao plants to increase her plot of land and with the rest she will hire workers who can help her to plant.
