A loan of $2,150 helped to purchase livestock.

Kaiyrkul's story

Kaiyrkul is 58 years old, married and raising two grandsons. Her family's primary business is fattening up and reselling livestock. This business, started in 1993 with an initial sum of 5,000 som (KGS), today yields about 10,000 som (KGS) per month. Currently, Kaiyrkul's business has two dairy cows, five sheep and one horse. In order to further increase livestock headcount, Kaiyrkul requested a loan in the sum of 100,000 som (KGS) from the "Bai-Tushum and Partners" company to buy sheep. This would allow her to expand her business and increase livestock headcount; thus, making the best capital investment, in her opinion.
