Somaly, 42, is married and resides with her husband and four children in Kampong Chhnang Province, Cambodia. She has been growing agricultural crops for over ten years, earning approximately USD 5 per day. Her husband is an officer in the provincial department of water resources and meteorology. He earns approximately USD 3 per day. Two of her children are employed in the garment factory and earn about USD 6 per day.
Due to a lack of capital, Somaly is requesting a loan of USD 1000 to purchase rice seeds and fertilizer for growing rice in the dry season. In the future, she would like to purchase more farmland for growing agricultural crops and help her children obtain a bachelor's degree.
