A loan of $1,125 helped to buy tools and perform vehicle maintenance.

Luis Armando's story

Luis, age 55, is from the city of Chincha. The city is known for its beautiful beaches and its warm climate. It is also known for being the birthplace of great Peruvian sports heroes. Above all, it is known for the generosity of its people and for the great seasoning used in food preparation. One of Luis’s favorite dishes is the delicious “Carapulcra” (a spicy Peruvian stew). One of his favorite pastimes is playing soccer, especially when he is downhearted or worried.

Luis works as a bricklayer, and he works around ten hours a day. It is very hard work, but he does it with great devotion. Therefore, he believes that his business is going well for him. His customers are happy with his work, and they recommend him.

Luis is very grateful to the Kiva lenders. Thanks to their support he will be able to perform maintenance on the vehicle he uses to transport the materials he uses. He will also buy tools and materials to do his work. This will allow him to have a vehicle that is in good shape for transporting his tools. He will no longer have to rent a vehicle or tools.

This way he will continue struggling each day in order to be able to fulfill his big dream of, “Having a construction company”.
