Lucia Alexandra's story

Lucia is a member of the communal back Fe y Alegria (Faith and Happiness). She lives in the city of Cuenca, which is the third most important city in Ecuador. It has a lot of natural and architectural beauty. Its inhabitants continue the culture and traditions of their people.

Lucia is 32 years old and a single mother of an eight year old girl, who is studying in a public school in the city. They do not have their own house and as such, live in a house owned by her parents.

She sells plastic items and works from Monday through Saturday, from seven in the morning til five in the afternoon. She has been running this business for two years. She has been a member of the communal bank for a year and a half and she will invest this new loan in the purchase of plastic items so she can grow her business.

Her goal is to continue growing her business and get ahead in life with her daughter.
