A loan of $375 helped to buy more clothes.

Sabina's story

Sabina, 46, is a hardworking and industrious woman with strong ambitions to move forward in life and to be happy. She is married to Oscar, who is retired and the father of her children, most of whom are independent. They live comfortably together in their own home with two of their children - Cristian, 30, and Rosita, 16, as well as two of their grandchildren and their daughter-in-law.

Sabina works selling a variety of fashionable clothes for men, women and children, as well as sheets and cushions. She acquires all these items on regular trips to the capital, then sells them among her friends and neighbours. She serves her customers with a very friendly and amenable manner, which means they are loyal to her and recommend her to others, increasing her customer base.

Sabina started more than eight years ago with a loan from MFP, when she joined a communal group, and until now she has been working alone. She describes her business as profitable, as it provides her with good earnings, and she is able to sell all her products. She decided to start her business due to a desire to have an occupation and to generate her own income, so she could feel like a productive person. For that reason, and because of the good results she continues to have, she wants to carry on running her business.

This will be her fourth loan with MFP. She is hoping for a small loan in order to fulfill her goals. With the amount requested of 1,000 nuevos soles, she will invest in buying a variety of clothing while in the capital, and will be able to get better prices thanks to buying in bulk, thereby increasing her profit margins.
