A loan of $1,975 helped to pay for agrochemicals, fertilizer, and hired hands to help with the harvesting of pineapples.

Ulises Gerardo Del Carmen's story

Ulises is 46 years old and lives with his family in the community of San Carlos in the province of Alajuela. This rural community exhibits a lot of potential for development since there are already a lot of agricultural activities because it has a hot climate. The climate permits the production of certain fruits that grow with greater strength such as mangos, melons, and other fruits native to the area. This has encouraged the development of other connected activities and services in the community, such as the fattening of cattle and the opportunities for small businesses and micro-enterprizes among other things. The area is characterized by its national parks and its extensive variety of flora and fauna.

Ulises has dedicated himself to the cultivation of pineapples for many years. His family has given him support and help. Neighbors have shown satisfaction with the harvest and have benefited, many of them by obtaining work, which has permitted them to have more financial income that allows them to offer their families a better quality of life.

Ulises is soliciting the amount of 1,000,000.00 (one million Costa Rican colones) in order to give assistance and management to his pineapple plantation through agrochemicals, fertilizer, and hired hands to help with the harvesting of this product.

Ulises is a member of the "Empresa de Credito Comunal de Los Angeles de Pital S.A." This will be his first loan, and he is therefore very grateful
for the opportunities for credit access that this offers him and that will enable him to carry out his life's projects.
