A loan of $3,000 helped a member to renovate his garage and improve his working conditions.

Rozhgar's Group's story

Rozhgar is a 27-year-old, hard working, and highly respected young Iraqi man. He is married and has one child.

Having started working at a young age, he already has eight years of work experience. His well-established garage offers such services as oil and tire changes. His garage has a good reputation and his services are very much in demand by car owners in the city.

Rozhgar took a loan from Relief International Microfinance Iraq to be able to renovate his garage and improve his working conditions.

Relief International - Microfinance Iraq offers group loans for clients unable to provide a guarantor, which makes them unable to apply for a loan as an individual. As a group, the members collectively guarantee the loan. Groups consist of three to five clients, and each client is evaluated on his or her repayment capacity. All group members receive the same loan amount as the individual with the lowest repayment capacity in the group.
