George's story

George is 29 years old. He lives in the village of Chikaani. George married recently and lives now with his wife, Mtvarisa, his parents and an aunt. His aunt has health problems and receives a relevant pension from the government.

George and his parents are a leading family agricultural farm, which is the only source of income for the family. They have 4 buffalo. George’s mother uses buffalo milk for the production of cheese, which is quite an expensive product on the local market.

Also the family owns agricultural land, where watermelon, maize, wheat and vine-trees are grown. During busy agricultural seasons, all family members spend their days on the land doing hard work. They sell harvested products on the local market. The total average monthly income of the family is 1,100 Laris.

George requested credit for hiring a tractor for land cultivation and the purchasing of seeds of watermelon and maize. After properly done seasonal work and high quality seeds, he can count on a good harvest, which will be sold at a fair price. It will give the family increased income. George plans to use this increased income for the renovation of their house, which is old and not comfortable.
