A loan of $950 helped to buy products to stock his store.

Wilmer's story

35-year-old Wilmer is married to Edika who is 34. The couple have three children and live in their own home, in Llochegua district. Wilmer has had to work hard to earn a living from a very young age. When he was just 11 years old he started out in business, selling candies. Every afternoon he sold his products in the street. In this way, he managed to cover his school expenses as he didn't have enough support from his parents. When Wilmer was in the fourth year of high school, he chose to form a family and stopped studying. With a family to support, he had to work very hard to build up some capital. As he was saving, he managed to set up a grocery store in order to make an income. At first it wasn't so profitable but, over time, he became more well known and his business is now growing amazingly quickly.

This is Wilmer's second loan from MFP and he pledges to make his repayments on time. He is happy to belong to his community bank because they are all supportive. He will invest his 2,500 soles in increasing his stock.
