A loan of $950 helped to buy construction supplies to expand her business.

Rosa's story

44-year-old Rosa is a single mother with four children. They live in their own home, in Llochegua district. Rosa is an entrepreneurial woman who has always enjoyed working in business since she was very young. This helped her to cover her school expenses. Rosa tells us that when she was in her third year of elementary school, her father made her a small wooden box which she filled with candies and then went out to sell them in every market in Pichari district so that she could cover some of her school expenses. This is how she started off in business. Rosa currently has a small 'recreational bar' where she sells drinks and traditional dishes prepared with regional produce and fine meats.

Ros is proud of what she does as it is profitable. Her busiest days are weekends when her bar is full of customers. Sometimes she doesn't have enough hands to serve them all.

Rosa is planning to improve her premises and make them more attractive. This is her second loan from MFP and she pledges to make her repayments on time. She will invest her 2,500 soles in improving her 'recreational bar'.
