A loan of $1,125 helped to buy new dresses.

Rosa Efigenia's story

Rosa is a woman from Ica who struggles to get her three young children ahead. Her husband is a great support to her because he works as a taxi driver. His income allows them to share the expenses and to later be able to have a better quality of daily life.

Previously, Rosa did not generate much income. That is why she could come up with no better idea than to make clothes and then be able to buy some others. This is how she was able to buy all of the dresses that she needed to start her business. So far everything is going well. In the eight hours that she works she takes care of an average of five customers. They want to attend a graduation party, weddings, and baptisms, among others.

Rosa’s continual intention is to make progress and to improve. That is why she also has a grocery store in her house. It is a place where she can generate extra income.

With the help of the Kiva lenders Rosa will be able to buy new and better dresses to rent. The season is now starting again. Her big dream is to be able to have her own place in the center of the city. That way she would have a prosperous business that would allow her to take care of her three children. She would be able to give her children, whom she loves very much, a good education.
