A loan of $800 helped to buy ingredients like corn flour and firewood for making the tortillas.

Ana Isabel's story

Ana Isabel, age 45, is a single mother. She lives with her 20 year old daughter in the Flor del Valle neighborhood in San Pedro Sula.

For over 20 years Ana has been making corn tortillas, regular tortillas, and tortillas for making tacos. She started this business through her own efforts. She inherited the business from her mother, and she has been able to maintain it from then on. She works all day every day of the week.

She is requesting this loan from ODEF for 15,000 lempiras. She will use it to buy the ingredients she needs like corn flour and firewood for making the tortillas. Her goal is to expand her business, improver her house, and to buy more of the needed household goods.
