A loan of $750 helped to hire laborers.

Anatolia's story

Anatolia, 36, lives in her own home along with her spouse Sergio, 42, who helps with the expenses for their three beloved children. Anatolia is a very persistent woman and very dedicated to her work of growing coffee with her husband. They both know they need to struggle to have the best production since their local neighbors also produce coffee. Anatolia has been working 24 years in the industry and she says that it is very distressing to have to fight pests that bring down their crops.

She came to the offices of Kiva partner Microfinanzas Prisma (MFP) to receive help with proposed plans to protect their crops. She hopes for the support of financiers so that she can carry out work plans and eventually produce the best harvest of the entire town.

This will be her second loan through MFP, and Anatolia promises to faithfully adhere to terms of repayment. She will be as responsible and punctual as all of the other community bank's members are. The $750 (2,000 soles) will help to maintain her coffee crops and to hire laborers, with the aim of preventing any event which could adversely affect their manufacturing productivity.
