Khon, age forty-four, is a responsible mother of a lovely kid, residing in Prey Chor district, Kompong Cham province. Khon helps her husband to earn income by working in different places as a cleaner. She is able to earn a low income from this business.
With the loan she requested from HKL and Kiva, she will buy a cow to keep for farming and purchase a pig to raise. In the future, Khon wants to expand her pig-raising business and generate a good income from it.
Hattha Kaksekar Limited is one of the largest and most successful microfinance institutions (MFIs) in Cambodia. The organization provides microfinance services to the poor, particularly women, in urban and rural areas. Kiva lenders’ funds will be used to expand the outreach of HKL’s financial services to a greater number of clients in rural areas of Cambodia.
